About Craftsman Upholstery

Craftsman Upholstery has been around since 1972. We got our start as our founder, Steve Hardle, used the skills he had learned from his father, and also from a short relocation out to the Boston area.

Out East, they had a rigorous standard for upholstery quality, and Steve learned very quickly that if he didn’t do top quality, then the cover “has got ta come off”! That was where our desire to always give a top-quality product was born. If it wasn’t good enough for that supervisor over the antique furniture of Boston, then it isn’t good enough for our clients out here in Utah without having all the little details addressed.

After years of this, Mark Harris came along and married Steve’s daughter and ended up purchasing Craftsman Upholstery– so the second generation of Craftsman Upholstery began. Mark and Steve together developed a proprietary kneeler for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that improved the product by cutting the weight in half and still providing features to ensure longevity of the product.

Craftsman also started building frames in-house to ensure a more timely product for their customers and continues to grow and look for new ways to service the needs of their clients. Our legacy is one of quality work, relationships with great clients, and creativity to figure out solutions to any situation.
